If you or your loved ones are involved in a hit and run road traffic accident you must contact the police as soon as possible to report your accident and provide details of the circumstances. You must also contact your Cyprus Personal Injury Lawyer to ensure that everything will go well.

Here are some steps you must take if you are involved in a hit and run accident:

At Rotsides & Co we routinely file MIF claims ensuring the smooth process all the way to compensation of our clients. To claim compensation from the Motor Insurers’ Fund, we make certain that the claim will be prepared and filed within specific deadlines. The claim must include details of the accident, the injuries suffered by the victim, and any other relevant information.

We then arrange and guide our clients so that the relevant evidence is available for the claim to be approved by the MIF and we negotiate on our clients behalf so that the compensation is fair just and reasonable as the law provides. The Motor Insurers’ Fund will pay compensation to the victim, based on the severity of their injuries and the impact on their life. The amount of compensation awarded will depend on the individual circumstances of the case, such as the extent of the injuries, the impact on the victim’s ability to work and enjoy life, and any other relevant factors.

It’s worth noting that in cases where the driver responsible for the hit and run accident is identified and convicted, they may still be held personally liable for paying damages to the victim, in addition to any criminal penalties they may face.
